Re-Discover the perfect furniture for your home or office!
Thank you for visiting our site. The Restoration Society is dedicated to working with each client to full-fill their wants and needs. We strive to provide quality workmanship at reasonable prices, and have more than 50 years of experience.
Restoration and refinishing can be done in ways that do not harm the value of your furniture. Our team take this into consideration with every piece that we work with and help our clients with the best course of action for each piece.
If refinishing is the direction you are looking for, our team can help assist you with different ideas and styles. We offer a variety of different types of finishes.
Repair can be structural or cosmetic, depending on the type and extent of the damage. We often do insurance work, repairing furniture that has been damaged by water, fire, or general mishandling and abuse.
Missing a drawer from a chest or a finial from your four-poster bed? From replacing a missing table leg to creating an entire piece of furniture to coordinate with an existing set, The Restoration Society can help. We work with you directly, using our knowledge and experience of antiques to create a seamless match.
We perform the labor, you provide the material. We are able to suggest high-quality fabric vendors that are local to our area with reasonable prices. Our in house upholsterer can bring your piece back to life, providing the comfort and quality you deserve.
The same individual has been working for us for more than 40 years. Each Cain chair is hand woven or pressed in depending on the style of chair. When repairing Cain or rush chairs we take into consideration the "bones" (framework and foundation). If the bones are in need of repair, we address this before the Caining process can be done to help with the longevity of the piece.

- Is my piece worth restoring?
Yes, if it is part of a set, part of your family heritage, fits and looks good in your home, is truly an antique (100 years), or if it is a piece of good quality furniture. In most cases, restoration will never exceed the value of the piece. At The Restoration Society, we complete work that a client wants us to do, regardless of the age or value.
-Will restoring my piece hurt the value?
Each item has to be evaluated separately and either restored or conserved in a manner that is reversible. Conservation may be most appropriate on "investment-grade" antiques. Whereas, on a different item, a complete restoration may be appropriate. We take each piece into consideration, and using our knowledge and experience to carefully perform the type of work that will increase or preserve the value of your items.
-I have a set of missing pieces. What can be done?
In most cases The Restoration Society can fabricate missing elements and provide custom-made items to enhance or complete your furniture set.
-Can you match the color of a finish to another item?
We have the capabilities and skill to create our own colors in house. We pride ourselves with our talented skilled staff and their artistic ability to match colors and finishes.
-Do you repair furniture?
Absolutely. The repair can be as simple as re-gluing a chair, matching a decorative element, or re-creating an intricate carving for a large-scale project.
-Can my item/items be completed by a certain date?
Due to the nature of our business, we cannot give a definite date as to when the work will be completed- even weather can be a factor (drying time, ect.) Our craftsmen perfom the necessary tasks by hand on your items.
Because each job is different and specific, it is often difficult to determine an exact timeframe. We ask for your patience and understanding in this matter. When your project is completed, we will call you and also mail a notice to you. It is our goal to satisfy your needs.
